Plasma & LCD Display Mounting Options

Post by Patrick -Online-kiosks »

Because of their thin profile, plasma and LCD displays do not stand upright without some type of mounting system.

Most commonly, screens are wall-mounted. There are a few considerations when choosing a wall mount. First, it's important to select a wall mount that fits your specific screen. Plasma and LCD screens have different mounting kits.

However, with both types of screens, mounting usually requires attaching hardware to the back of the screen and attaching a mounting plate to the wall. In many cases, the wall mount should be installed by a qualified contractor, as the screen is 70-75 pounds and a large investment. Using the wrong fasteners or wall anchors can result in potential damage to the screen.

After the rear hardware and the wall mount are installed, the screen is then attached to the wall mount. It's important to remember to install any safety knobs or screws as well.

If wall mounting is not an option, there are a number of universal stands and carts availible as well.
